Basic language concepts are taught yearly at each grade level. Each year students use literature anthologies, novels, grammar, and writing to develop their abilities in communication and learning to understand God’s gift of language. The study of spelling and vocabulary are also a part of each year’s course of study.

Computer:
During the years that junior high students take computer, the goal is to raise the keyboarding speed to 35 words per minute while using proper finger positioning. Exploration and application of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations using Microsoft Office are an integral part of the class. Graphics programs, Internet use, and other areas are also investigated.
Art:
Students study Fred Babb and do a self-portrait. They also study art forms, including a sculpture unit.
Music:
Students concentrate on rhythm, melody, and harmony in class and small group compositions. In all junior high classes, we sing an assortment of contemporary and traditional songs and rounds. We also offer wind instrumental instruction and a specialty choral group called “Knight Song.”
Spanish:
In the Spanish rotation, students learn more grammar and vocabulary each successive year. Students learn to construct simple Spanish sentences that are grammatically correct.
